I feel it is only fair to admit I have found myself watching Anne of Green Gables the animated series and actually enjoying it. I have always been a fan of Anne with an "E" most likely because I tend to be a bit dramatic and am a known for unintentionally making waves as was Anne. We are also both writers and live half our time within the a much nicer dream world. While she was prone to Shakespearean daydreams mine leans more to and English countryside. In fact as I watch an aggressive Asian Dominatrix fondle a fiberglass cane, I am definitely elsewhere.
That does not mean I have anything against an Asian Dominatrix who knows what she wants out of an instrument of impact.
But I digress...
Why bring Anne up at all? Well I was watching this cartoon last night and was told my members of my household that the lesson Anne was learning was one I should pay attention to. Mind you, I am 34 years old. Anne was overbooked and even though she was overbooked she found herself much more interested in playing hide and go seek and daydreaming about Fairy Queens then getting berries and cream to make ice cream for an event she was also performing in...do I even need to mention that Anne was performing Shakespeare and hadn't a lick of what she was performing memorized...NOT A LICK.
I was told I overbook, overextend and just plain overdo just about everything. I guess this is just one more quality that Anne and I share; also the intrinsic pleasure in doing nothing when there is most certainly a ton to be doing. I like Anne usually pull it all together in the end as I do have a passionate connection to all of my commitments but this does NOT stop me from over committing much to the horror of the ones I love most. As they are the ones who have to "deal with me." So what did I learn from Anne? I was asked this once the episode was over and now as I sit thinking about that English countryside where I most certainly would rather be...is that while everyone may hate a quitter, over-committers are also not fun and that every once in awhile it is best to not overbook as you can definitely miss out on home made blueberry ice cream! Hey I take my lessons where I can get em.'
That being said; I have a ton of goodies to share and a load of good things on the horizon for April. To get my latest updates go HERE.
